Adaptation of Original Agneepath(1990), this film gives you good story with power pack performances.
This is a story of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik) and his revenge from Kancha China(Sanjay Dutt).
Mr.Dinanath is a teacher in school of Mandva, who wants to develop this village; but Thakur wants to stop him so he called his Son Kancha to stop Dinanath. Kancha who is evil minded, wants to start his business of drugs killed Dinanath & set his home on fire leaving no other choice for 12 years old Vijay & his pregnant mother but to escape. Now young Vijay only wants his revenge and village back from Kancha. Vijay moved to Mumbai city where he meets Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor) who is master of Mumbai Underworld. Rauf didn’t allow Kancha to setup his business in Mumbai, and meanwhile Vijay manages to enter Rauf’s gang. After 15 years Vijay has planned how he will re-enter Mandva & take his Revenge. Vijay becomes head of Rauf’s gang and make an agreement with Kancha to allow him to start his business in Mumbai. Kancha wants to kill Asst. Commissioner Mr.Gaitonde (Om Puri) before capturing Mumbai and ask Vijay to kill him, but Vijay didn’t kill Gaitonde. Eventually Kancha knows about Vijay and why he wants Mandva. At the end Vijay enters Mandva to finish things & take his Revenge.
This remake has lots new things which brings freshness and lacks few things. Sanjay Dutt as Kancha and Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala are best part. Sanjay did scare you with his Bald look and Evil laugh. Hrithik fails to impress as Vijay. 2nd half could have been better, especially Climax. Priyanka has no significant role but adds glamour. Action scenes are better but emotional scenes bores you and appear unnecessary.
In short it’s a good movie of recent time, Must watch & treat for Sanjay Dutt’s fan. He has given his best performance of recent time.
